SPA Resort St. Ivan Rilski is a four-star, year-round resort in Bansko, Bulgaria’s best-known ski town, about 160 km from Sofia and around ten minutes from the ski lift. The gated complex covers 16,000 m² and includes a main hotel with 109 rooms, a SPA centre of more than 1,000 m² on two levels, and four alpine-style villas with apartments, set around a garden with a playground.
The hotel was completely renovated in 2021 and runs an All Inclusive programme all year round, with Half Board Plus as an alternative. The Bulgarian Hotel and Restaurant Association has named it the best four-star mountain SPA hotel in Bulgaria every year from 2021 to 2025. Inside, wood, stone and plenty of daylight set the tone, and every bed has an FPI Special Edition mattress by Happy Dreams, with a pillow menu to choose from.
All Inclusive is served in the Chef’s Kitchen main restaurant (180 seats, with a panoramic terrace facing Rila and Pirin): breakfast 07:30 to 10:00, a morning snack 10:00 to 11:00, buffet lunch 12:00 to 14:00, an afternoon snack 15:00 to 16:30 and dinner 18:30 to 21:30 with show cooking, a grill, a carving station and weekend specials. Hot and soft drinks, draught beer, draught wine and Bulgarian spirits are included, and a pool bar opens in summer (1 July to 1 October, 10:00 to 18:00). All Inclusive guests can order a ski lunch box by noon the day before. Half Board Plus includes buffet breakfast and dinner with drinks, and local alcoholic drinks with dinner. Gluten-free and lactose-free meals can be arranged with advance notice.
The Panorama Lobby Bar (12:00 to 00:00) has fireplaces, mountain views and an à la carte menu of coffee, tapas, desserts, smoothies and wines; drinks there are charged separately. The Rustic Lounge Bar (10:30 to 24:00) is a cosy room with a fireplace and games for all ages.
The Kid’s Club runs a daily programme with professional animators: crafts, face painting, games, a mini MasterChef, movie nights and a kids’ disco every evening. It is included for every guest with children; children under four must be with an adult. There is also an outdoor playground.
The resort also has the Pirin conference hall (120 m², up to 120 seats) and eight smaller halls in the villas, a shop, ski rental, a ski and snowboard storage room, indoor garages and an outdoor car park, free luggage storage, room service at extra cost, and live music and themed evenings. Pets are welcome by prior arrangement. Check-in is from 15:00 and check-out by 12:00.
The resort has eleven room types. In the main building there are the Double or Twin room (34 to 37 m², 2 adults + 1), the Deluxe room (46 m², 2 + 2), the Promo room without a balcony (24 m², 2 adults), the one-bedroom apartment (68 m², 2 + 2) and the two-level Maisonette (50 m², 2 + 1). The Premium Design collection on the top floors adds a double room (42 m²), a studio (60 m²), a two-bedroom maisonette (80 m², 4 + 1) and a 118 m² penthouse with panoramic views. In the villas behind the hotel there are studios (30 m²) and family apartments (50 m²) with a kitchenette. Rooms in the main building have air conditioning, a 50-inch TV, a capsule coffee machine and mineral water replenished daily, and Premium rooms also get a complimentary minibar. SPA Resort St. Ivan Rilski is at 18 Shinova Ela Street in Bansko, about 160 km from Sofia and around ten minutes from the gondola lift. When the ski area is open, a free scheduled shuttle runs between the resort and the lower gondola station. Transfers from Sofia, Plovdiv and Thessaloniki airports can be arranged at extra cost. In summer the resort is a good base for hikes in Pirin National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Prices and what is includedPrices are in euros, per room per night for two guests (four in the Premium Design maisonette), on half board (breakfast and dinner with drinks) or All Inclusive, with all taxes included. They include the SPA with the indoor and outdoor pools, saunas and steam baths, the adults-only SPA zone, the gym (open 24/7), the children’s animation programme, parking (up to 120 spaces) and the shuttle to the gondola. The minimum stay is 3 nights. Prices for each period are listed on each room.
Early booking discountFor bookings confirmed by 15 November 2026: 10% off stays of 3 to 5 nights and 15% off stays of 6 nights or more.
Booking and paymentEarly-booking stays are confirmed with a 50% deposit paid within 7 days of confirmation; other stays with the first night paid within 7 days of confirmation. The balance is paid on arrival, or for the New Year package (30 December 2026 to 2 January 2027) no later than 7 working days before arrival.
Cancellation and changesFree cancellation up to 21 days before arrival, or up to 5 days before arrival for stays from 4 to 25 March 2027. For a later cancellation or a no-show the prepaid amount is not refunded. If you leave early, 1 night is charged; for Christmas and New Year stays unused nights are not refunded.
Check-in and check-outCheck-in from 15:00, check-out by 12:00. If your room is ready earlier, the hotel will check you in. Show the voucher we send you at reception, together with an ID card or passport for each guest, as the hotel must register all guests under Bulgarian law.
Children and extra bedsBabies up to 1.99 and children up to 5.99 stay free. Children aged 6 to 11.99 on an extra bed pay 31 € per night on half board or 41 € on All Inclusive. Guests aged 12 and over on an extra bed pay the extra-bed price shown on each room. One adult with one child up to 11.99 in a standard double room is charged as single occupancy (10% off the double price), and one adult with two children aged 2 to 11.99 pays the double price.
Extending your stayIf you want to stay longer, contact us first. Extra nights arranged directly at the hotel are charged at the hotel’s reception rates.
SPA and gym age limitsChildren under 12 may not use the sauna, steam bath or hammam, and the adults-only SPA zone is for guests aged 16 and over. The pools are open to children accompanied by an adult.
PetsPets stay free for new bookings made by 15 November 2026 for stays until 25 March 2027. Otherwise: 10 € per day up to 15 kg and 20 € per day over 15 kg, plus a one-off cleaning fee of 20 € / 40 € in the main building or 10 € / 20 € in the villas, paid at the hotel. Pets are not allowed in the restaurants, bars, SPA, pools or children’s areas.
Problems during your stayIf anything is not as expected, tell the hotel reception and let us know straight away, within 48 hours at the latest, so that we can resolve it with the hotel. Any damage caused to the hotel is settled directly between the guest and the hotel.
