Kamenitsa (also called Begovitsa) hut sits at 1,750 meters in northern Pirin Mountain, Bulgaria, on the left bank of the Begovishka (Kozya) River near the forest line.
From Sandanski (closest town), follow a 29 km dirt road: 21 km paved to Popina Laka, then rough track via Cherkovnoto (Turichka Cherkva) place—suitable only for high-clearance 4×4 vehicles, even in dry weather. Summer weekends offer transport from Sandanski to Popina Laka.
From Popina Laka: 2-hour marked forest trail (10 km total drive/hike combo).
From other huts: Vihren hut (6 hours), Tevno Ezero (4 hours), Bezbog (5 hours), or multi-day Pirin traverses like Bansko-Vihren-Spano Pole.
The hut has 90 beds, shared baths, restaurant, and tent spots
