WHY RILA

A high, wild range you can still reach by lunchtime

Rila sits under two hours from Sofia, so you can start a hike the same morning you arrive. Huts space the range’s main routes about a day apart, the Seven Rila Lakes trail is manageable for most fitness levels, and Musala — at 2925 m — is one of the more approachable ‘highest peak in the Balkans’ climbs you’ll find. This hub gathers the guides, huts and routes you need to plan it.
