The hut is located in Rila National Park at 2,224 meters of altitude, on the shores of Ravnivrashko Lake and in the foot of Belmeken Peak (2,626.4 m). It was originally built in 1932. The hut is electrified and can host up to 30 people in dormitories. A limited choice of food and drinks is available.
The hut is accessible from the holiday area of the town of Kostenets – 4,5 hours along a marked trail, or from Belmeken Dam – 2,5 hours. An asphalt road leads up to the dam, located at 2,000 meters above the sea.

Malyovitsa hut

Malyovitsa Hut is a popular mountain refuge located in the north-western part of Rila Mountain, Bulgaria. Situated at an altitude of 1,960 meters (6,430 feet), about 40 minutes to 1 hour hike from Malyovitsa Central Mountain School, serves as a base for hikers ascending Malyovitsa Peak (2,729 meters).

Three-storey building with a spacious lounge and bar, recently renovated second floor, rooms in decent condition with new flooring, beds, and sheets. Shared bathrooms – sinks, two renovated toilets at the end of the corridor. Indoor dormitory style beds. Camping area available next to the hut by the river (one of the few officially allowed camping spots in Rila National Park).

Food and drinks available for purchase at the bar. Water refill points along the trail to the hut.

Starting point for various hiking trails, including: Malyovitsa Peak (5-6 hour round trip), Scary lake, Orlovets shelter, rock climbing routes and part of the European long distance path E4. Malyovitsa Hut serves as an essential stopover for hikers and climbers exploring the Malyovitsa region, offering basic amenities and a strategic location for mountain adventures.
