Semkovo hut

Semkovo Hut is located in the Rila Mountains of southwestern Bulgaria at an elevation of about 1750 meters above sea level, near the Semkovo ski resort area. The hut lies in the locality called Plavishte, northeast of the main resort. To get there, the usual route involves taking the road from the town of Belitsa, which is situated between the Rila and Pirin mountains. From Belitsa, there is a 15-16 kilometer mountain road leading directly to the Semkovo resort and hut. This road is narrow and winding, so caution is advised while driving. The area is accessible by car via this single mountain road from Belitsa. The hut is near a small lake and is a popular base for hiking and skiing in the Rila Mountains. Near it, there are many lakes, among which stand out Suhoto, Vapските, Chernopolyanski, and Skalishki lakes.
